Kathayoon Khalil

Associate Vice President of Conservation Learning, New England Aquarium

Kathayoon is the Associate Vice President of Conservation Learning at the New England Aquarium in Boston, MA. Formerly, she was the Director of Engagement at Zoo Advisors, the Conservation Impact Manager for the Oregon Zoo, and the Principal Evaluator at the Seattle Aquarium. Kathayoon’s interests are in the evaluation of learner experiences in informal learning facilities such as zoos and aquariums and her dissertation was entitled, "Social Learning Systems in Zoo and Aquarium Education: Networks and communities of practice." She graduated from the Graduate School of Education with a PhD in Learning Sciences and Technology Design (LSTD) in 2014. Prior coming to Stanford, Kathayoon completed a Master of Environmental Science degree from the Yale School of the Environment and a BA in Organismal Biology from Claremont McKenna College.
