Brandon Reynante

Director of Community Engaged Learning in Sustainability, Haas Center for Public Service, Stanford

Brandon is passionate about designing learning experiences and technologies that seek to unleash the collective creativity of humanity to solve systemic socio-ecological problems. Brandon completed his PhD in Developmental & Psychological Sciences and Learning Sciences & Technology Design at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education.  His dissertation research focused on creating an educational intervention that integrated engineering and fiction writing to empower youth to imagine pathways for transforming society toward just and sustainable climate futures. Brandon is the Director of Community Engaged Learning in Sustainability at Stanford’s Haas Center for Public Service.  Prior to Stanford, Brandon taught in a humanitarian engineering program at UC San Diego in which interdisciplinary student teams partnered with local and international nonprofit organizations to co-create solutions to pressing social and environmental challenges. Before that he managed and performed analysis-driven design of complex mechanical systems (e.g., clean energy tech, spacecraft, and theme-park rides) at an engineering consulting firm. Brandon holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego and an S.M. in Aerospace Engineering from MIT.
