Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources

Anaïs is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources with a PhD minor in Psychology. Her research investigates the emotional causes and consequences of the global environmental crisis and how these affective dynamics influence mitigation and adaptation behaviors across diverse cultural contexts. Building on her prior work with the overview effect and astronaut environmentalism, her doctoral work centers on eco-emotions with an emphasis on climate justice and the Global South and on interventions in naturalistic and virtual environments (VR) for promoting pro-environmental behavior change, such as sustainable diets and consumption. She holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from the Central European University and a M.Phil. in International Studies from the University of Cambridge. Prior to Stanford, she worked for the European Space Agency, Natural Resources Canada, and the Cambridge Climate Lecture Series.
