Noelle Wyman Roth, MEM, is the Assistant Director of the Applied Research, Evaluation, and Engagement group at Duke University’s Social Science Research Institute. Noelle is a mixed methods evaluator with particular expertise in qualitative research, as well as a Certified Trainer for NVivo (a qualitative data analysis software). Noelle earned her BA in political science from Boston College in 2009, then completed a year in AmeriCorps doing urban watershed education in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University (’12). Her work has spanned diverse content areas, including environmental health, environmental education, education, health systems, public policy, and gender and racial equity, among others. Throughout her career, she has centered research communication and data-informed decision-making, particularly through her work in program evaluation. Noelle has been connected with the Social Ecology Lab since 2014, including as the lab manager and consultant specializing in qualitative research and data analysis. Projects have included research on social-emotional learning in environmental education, environmental behaviors in everyday life, behavior change in nature-based tourism, and a systematic review of student outcomes in K-12 environmental education.
